Kitchen28, LLC, our small, family and women-owned business, was formed in 2013 about 60 miles outside of New Orleans in Holden, Louisiana. We produce Those Nuts! -- glazed pecans -- and sell mainly wholesale to grocery stores, cheese shops, coffee shops, and specialty food stores that offer gourmet food products and gift baskets. You can find our product in the largest natural foods grocery store chain known for its strict quality standards. The Those Nuts! family recipe is all natural with just four ingredients. They are gluten free, and we don't use any preservatives.


Melody Pate, Chef, has been cooking for more than 25 years. She began her career at the critically acclaimed French Room in Dallas, and then went on to assist in the opening of the LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort in Naples, Florida before finally landing in New Orleans. She had one detour out of the city to help an old boss open a resort on the West Coast. Once back in the Big Easy, she worked with chefs Kevin Graham and Emeril Lagasse before opening her own place, Alberta, in 2005. The restaurant received the 2007 Best New Restaurant in New Orleans award by Zagat before closing due to the lingering effects of Hurricane Katrina. Post-Katrina, Melody worked in the private-cheffing sector, where she honed her recipe for "those nuts," as her employer would remind her to make for any guests coming to the house.

Hannah McIntyre Denny has both a Bachelors Degree from Spring Hill College in Public Relations, Advertising and Writing, and a Culinary Arts degree from New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute (NOCHI). Having grown up in the hospitality industry, with parents in both the front and back of house in restaurants, it was only natural she entered the industry herself. After working for her family's resturant most of her adolescence, she began her professional career with the Link Restaurant Group before finding her place at Kitchen28. Her roles as Sous Chef and Marketing & New Business Manager allow her to persue both passions daily.
